Dr. Bush was born in Nebraska and grew up on a dairy and hog farm in Northeast Nebraska. The farm upbringing exposed him to animals from the very beginning. At one point, Dr. Bush and his sister had tamed and named over 60 farm cats. He was active in 4-H where he trained and showed dairy calves.
