Dr. Senior graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1969 and spent one year in a rotating clinical internship at the same institution immediately after graduation. He then worked in a predominantly dairy/beef practice in Alberta Canada for four and a half years before completing a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. After serving on faculty at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine where he specialized in diseases of the urinary tract, in 1992 he became Professor and Head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and from 2007 to 2015 he was Associate Dean, Advancement and Strategic Initiatives, Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. He served as Conference Coordinator, North American Veterinary Conference since the early 1990’s and as a Veterinary Consultant for the NAVC from 2015-2017, tasked with staging NAVC Hands-on Labs. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Southern European Veterinary Conference, in an advisory capacity in the development of the SEVC Hands-on labs and chaired the program committees for the 2019 FECAVA-RSAVA Congress in St Petersburg, Russia and the 2020 World Veterinary Association Conference in Auckland, New Zealand. He has served on the Editorial Board of Clinician’s Brief, as a Subject Specialist for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as Program Coordinator of the VetandTech Webinar Series, and as a veterinary school accreditation site-team member for the AVMA, Council on Education.
